IMG_6371_edited.jpg

Get Real is a financial education program for teens that draws upon the experiences of actual young adults from diverse backgrounds. Through Get Real, teens learn how to budget their money, build their credit record, save and invest in the "real world." The Get Real program can be used with any youth but is specifically designed for youth from communities with significant economic need. The Get Real program has been used with thousands of youth across Illinois and in communities nationwide.

A limited number of Get Real curriculum sets and instructional services (if applicable) are available free of charge to qualified programs (some restrictions apply)*. Pilot program sites may also be eligible to receive saving incentives for participants in some cases.

Create your own program by selecting the number of training guides, USBs, and student workbooks you need!

In recent reviews from over thousands of students …
Students increased their financial literacy knowledge from 55% correct responses at pre-test to 90% correct at post-test.
97% of student participants agreed that they “could use the information presented in the future”
98% found the Get Real approach with the associated “activities and examples useful”

A review of this program in the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards Report said:

"Reality TV is called a lot of different things, but ‘educational’ is not usually one of them.” (CFP Board Report).
"One look at Get Real: Financial Decisions in the Real World … will change that.”
